With a background in Industrial & Interior Design – an industry that linked
the creative and commercial – the vision of Aspire Gallery’s director, Donagh Mengel, was to
create an award that encouraged and rewarded artists that looked at their art as a business.
And that’s when ‘Petite Pieces’ was born…

A Solo Exhibition at Aspire Gallery
(terms & conditions apply) SELECTION PROCESS
Entering Artists may be short-listed as either an Online Finalist or Gallery Finalist.
First Prize will be determined from the pool of Gallery Finalists.
The size of Entries must not exceed:
- 50 cm x 50 cm for 2D works; or
- 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm for 3D works.
Please note, the work does not need to be square in size. MEDIUM
This competition is open to all forms of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works, this includes but is not limited to: -
- glass;
- textile;
- digital and photography;
- wood and metal.
Artists of all skill level are welcome to enter. JUDGING CRITERIA
As a business inspired art prize, the judges of Petite Pieces every year consider a balance of:
- technique;
- creativity and innovation;
- branding; and
- commercial capacity.
- $35 per piece for an Open Entry; or
- $30 per piece for 2020/2021 Aspirant Members.
