Allison was born in Melbourne and lives in the Macedon Ranges region of Victoria on Wurunjeri Woi Wurrung country.
She works full-time as a nurse manager in a busy specialist hospital and paints in her snippets of spare time.
Painting was initially a bereavement therapy after the loss of her son and she now creates in a small studio space – ‘Little Leif Studio’ – in his memory. The diverse Australian landscape is a constant source of inspiration – especially the big sky in all its moods. She is particularly drawn to the tree-covered mountains and wide open fields of her surroundings.
Painting and time spent in nature – whether wild or peaceful – is deeply comforting and rejuvenating. She loves to photograph the landscape and paint quick sketches in watercolour, especially when travelling and uses these as references for oil paintings in her studio.
