Francie Evans
-
Francie Evans is an emerging still life and portrait artist based in Brisbane, Australia.
Focusing on the quiet moments often overlooked in the rush of daily life, Francie aims to capture these in her oil paintings. Her works are typically grounded in realism, and showcase a soft luminance and painterly brushstrokes reminiscent of the Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites and Romantics.
She began oil painting in 2021. As a medical scientist and mother to two young sons, she finds painting to be an opportunity to practice both mindfulness and escapism, though often at the expense of a sleep.
Having exhibited both internationally and locally, she was a finalist in the 2023 Brisbane Portrait Prize Salon des Refuses, the 2023 Foot Square Exhibit at Aspire Gallery, and the 2022 Dean Cogle Portrait Prize.
