Jessica Davidson
-
Jessica Davidson is an artist from lower Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia. Davidson draws her inspiration from nature and the surrounding landscapes.
Working primarily with oils, she paints both real and imagined landscapes with ethereality.
Davidson often blurs the line between realism and abstractions as she puts all her focus on capturing the atmosphere and ambience of a place, rather than accurately portraying a particular place or scene.
She paints intuitively, exploring the versatility of her medium and occasionally breaking away from traditional oil painting techniques to create her contemporary landscapes.
Influenced by various significant artists from the past from the early impressionist painters and their love of capturing light and beauty, to colour field painters she continues to develop her painting style and techniques.
Davidson’s works have in recent years commanded a significant amount of collecting attention. Her most recent achievement includes finalist in Lethbridge Small Art Prize 2022 and having her works collected internationally in USA, UK and Singapore.
