Roxanne Lillis

  • Roxanne’s works represent a visual complexity of change. The act of making is a fundamental part of understanding who she is, her changing world, and response to it.

As a maker, she is motivated by how far she can test medium and support surface to create a sense of catharsis. This has become integral in her way of being since suffering the devastation of losing everything in a bushfire. It has bled into her sensibility.

Roxanne’s paintings are simultaneously philosophical and literal. Her intention is to create ambiguous organic forms. The ambiguity opening diverse interpretations. Whimsical yet solemn.

  • Roxanne Lillis is a Painter and sculptor, living and working in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales.

Roxanne began her art education in Sydney where she studied at the Julian Ashton Art School, The Rocks. There, she absorbed the acute attention to form and composition associated with the academic tutoring.

Her passion for the arts led her to successfully undertake a Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of Wollongong in 2000. Subsequent to that she received a Post-Graduate degree in Master of Art (Honours with Excellence) at the University of NSW Art & Design, Sydney in 2018. This is where Roxanne developed her own visual language.

Roxanne’s exhibitions include group and solo shows throughout Sydney and regional NSW. With a growing reputation in the field of arts, accompanied by awards, Lillis now seeks future opportunities to participate in to showcase her unique and celebrated artwork.
