Sharon Pappas

Sharon has loved painting for as long as she can remember. Her grandfather, an oil painter, taught and encouraged her, and his beautiful landscapes inspired her to paint. A personal tragedy in her late 20s, however, caused her to stop painting and focus on other aspects of her life. During this time, she expressed her creativity in other ways – mainly photography and fashion design.
During the pandemic, Sharon moved to the beautiful country town of Lancefield, where she found peace in her soul and began painting again. Inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her, her creativity has flourished, and she takes every opportunity to learn and grow as an artist.Re-discovering oil painting in March 2022 was an awakening for Sharon. Not only did she want to make art her career, but she also wanted to devote herself to becoming the best artist she could be.
Sharon is influenced by the modern impressionist approach, which is characterized by its bright, bold colors and capturing the play of light. Her artwork is an expression of who she is, drawing inspiration from the world around her. She uses thick brush strokes and works quickly with wet layers to achieve a lush textured appearance that brings her subjects to life.
