The wedge-tailed eagle is one of 12 species of large, predominantly dark-coloured booted eagles in the genus Aquila found worldwide. A large brown bird of prey, it has a wingspan up to 2.8 m and a length up to 1 m. Their nests are distinctly massive and in prominent locations and added to with each breeding year. Nests that weigh over 400 kg have been known. All eagles are lords over large territories. They have a strong understanding of heat and wind and command the skies. He is often seen effortlessly soaring the wind drafts, implying a sense of freedom.
