Amy is a semi-abstract artist originally from Queensland, now living and creating on Cammeraygal Land in Sydney. Inspired by nature, she works semi-abstractly to convey feelings and engage viewers. She enjoys exploring colour, mark making, and allowing paint to flow freely, hoping her artworks bring joy.
Born and raised in Queensland but currently respectfully living and creating on Cammeraygal Land in Sydney, Amy has always felt the pull to draw, paint or create. After a career in Human Resources, starting a family and some health obstacles, that internal voice telling her to “just paint” became more insistent and so, not that long ago, she honoured it by dedicating more time to her artistic practice and hasn’t looked back. Amy is inspired by the natural environment and the beauty found in nature. She loves to work abstractly and semi-abstractly in order to convey a feeling or mood and to enable the viewer to become a participant in the creative experience. She is a lover of colour, mark making, shape and line and allowing the paint to do its thing in the form of drips, splatters and areas of thickly applied paint where the colours swirl and combine themselves in a more random, less controlled, fashion. She hopes her artworks bring joy.
