Wendy Joyce is a rurally based artist whose deep connection to water—shaped by a long career in competitive swim coaching—lies at the heart of her artistic practice. Her work captures the delicate interplay of light, movement, and the human form within aquatic and coastal landscapes. Often featuring women and children in serene beach settings, Wendy’s paintings evoke a sense of calm and nostalgia, celebrating the beauty and transience of light on water.
Inspired by real-life observation and a love for the coastal environment, she seeks to reflect the ever-changing nature of light and its ability to transform the everyday into the ethereal.
Wendy was named the 2023 Emerging Artist by the Avon Valley Arts Society and is a two-time national finalist with Art Lovers Australia (Melbourne, 2024 and 2025). She was also featured in Bluethumb’s ‘Portrait Artists to Watch 2024’ and regularly exhibits locally and online via Bluethumb, Art Lovers Australia, and Charleston’s Fine Art.
