Ellenie Faith Kirkman is a 19-year-old emerging artist from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, working in traditional oil painting. Her work is marked by a sensitive understanding of light and expressive, deliberate brushstrokes that bring depth and emotion to her still life compositions. Rooted in nostalgia and quiet wistfulness, Ellenie’s paintings capture the beauty of everyday objects as vessels for memory - echoing moments of the past and gentle reminders of hope. Launched onto the art scene in 2025, Ellenie has quickly been making tracks and is already proving herself as an artist to watch. Selected into multiple invitation-based exhibitions this year, she was also awarded the FACETS Mary Snow Memorial Emerging Artist Award for 2026, an early recognition of both her technical ability and growing presence within the arts community. While she only began painting in oils four years ago, creativity has long been part of her life, creating since she was first able to hold a pencil. Drawing inspiration from old masters, nature, stories shared with her, and childhood memories, her practice balances technical sensitivity with a deeply personal sense of storytelling.
