Kathryn Zammit is an artist living in Melbourne who enjoys capturing a wide range of subjects in a realistic yet fresh way. Her subjects range from familiar scenes, foods, to tonal paintings of flowers, interiors and objects.
She finds inspiration in the everyday but also delves into her childhood growing up in the 70's and 80's in Melbourne, each painting expressing a feeling of joy, melancholy or quiet moments. This year has found her taking her art full time, painting mainly alla prima to learn through the paint small, paint often method. With a background in design and illustration, she values the importance of a good composition, colour and enough detail to hold the interest. For Kathryn, she enjoys finding that connection with the viewer, sometimes serious, sometimes with humour but always with the love of her painting showing through.
