Binny Harris grew up on a farm in rural New South Wales, where she developed a deep appreciation for the colours and contours of the Australian landscape.
While initially balancing her passion for art with a career in law, she now focuses on painting full-time in Sydney.
Working with oil on canvas, Binny applies multiple layers of paint to achieve soft, smooth surfaces. She explores the interplay of shapes, shadows and reflections in the natural world and within carefully arranged groupings of objects. Her impulse is to find harmony and order in composition.
Binny’s work has been recognized in several exhibitions and awards across Queensland and New South Wales, including as a Finalist in the Paddington Art Prize (2016) and Anderson Art Award (2025), and as a Curator’s Pick at the Downlands Art Show in Toowoomba (2024). In 2025, she also exhibited at both the Melbourne and Sydney Affordable Art Fairs under the banner of Aspire.
