Denise Hussey is a Qld artist whose practice centres on the interplay between water, light and the human figure, inspired by years spent on the coast with her family swimming, surfing and watching the shifting moods of the ocean. Her realistic, light-driven paintings aim to convey both the calm and energy of water, inviting the viewer to feel present within the scene. After completing Cert 3&4 in Visual Art in 2010, she curated two group exhibitions with fellow artists and later worked as an Art Technician within a school while raising her family. Throughout her career she has continued to develop her skills through commissions, attending workshops and an ongoing commitment to refining her craft.
