Jaclyn is a painter with a fine arts degree, teacher, and art therapist who lives on the northwest coast of Tasmania, fortunate to call a house by the sea her home. She creates abstract impressionist seascapes inspired by local scenery, building layers of memory into each work so that texture and pattern narrate the history of place. She has exhibited in group and solo shows across Tasmania, Brisbane, New South Wales, and Melbourne, and continues to grow her arts practice by exploring and developing stories shaped by the island’s rugged landscape.
Jaclyn holds a deep connection to her island home—one that extends beyond the physical. Her work is driven by a continual pursuit to capture atmosphere and interpret the mystery of the divine. She searches for beauty and respite, responding to moments of magic where a sense of sacredness feels close, present, and speaking through the landscape.
