Emerging artist Jodi Thompson is based in Newcastle NSW. While she has held a lifelong appreciation for art, it wasn’t until later in life that she began painting in earnest. Predominantly self-taught, Jodi has developed her practice through classes, experimentation and ongoing exploration, allowing trial and error to shape her unique style.
Her work is primarily in oils, with a particular interest in the interior - spaces filled with warmth, colour, and light. What often begins as a simple form gradually takes on depth and character, allowing each piece to evolve slowly. Jodi’s work has been recognised in several local and interstate art prizes, has been selected for multiple group exhibitions. In 2025 she presented two solo exhibitions.
