What is "Foot Square"?
“Foot Square” is one of our annual competitions, where we aim to fill the gallery entirely with small works - just in time for Christmas!
The requirements for submissions are simple:
- Works must measure under 35 x 35 cm (work does not need to be square); and
- The works must be priced under $500.
In 2026, our competition format for the exhibition has returned once more - with the winner awarded with:
- 12 months representation (with the option to extend); AND
- an invitation to join us at (at least) one of the three Australian Affordable Art Fairs in 2027 (either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne).
What are we looking for?
A smaller size doesn’t have to mean less of an impact.
So we are looking for those perfect statement pieces for a home, those pieces that use other methods rather than size to make an impact, or those beautiful pieces that you just can’t say no to (and you’ll regret not buying).

Criteria, Cost and Sizing
THEME
Anything goes!
MEDIUM
This exhibition is open to all forms of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.
SIZING
Maximum size 35 x 35 cm
(or 40 x 40 cm, framed)
COST OF ENTRY
Open Entry:
$15 per piece
Payment of the entry fee is due on submission.
COMMISSION
Any Entries sold during the duration of the exhibition will incur a 30% commission.
